Robert Duncan

Robert Duncan as one of the managing partners in Forward Investments, LLC is what most would call a “jack of all trades”. He has held many “careers” since graduating from the University of North Dakota in 1992 with a BBA in Aviation Administration. He earned not only his business degree, but his commercial instrument and certified flight instructor pilot licenses to fly single engine and multi-engine aircraft.

After years of wanting to get into real estate, but wasn’t quite sure how to and slowly building flight time and growing deeper into debt, he tried a one year stint as an over the road truck driver to help defray the cost of flying. He quickly found that driving truck over the road was not the answer. He then decided to get into computer programming and earned his diploma from Brown College in 1997 as the tech industry was in its prime and the airlines were not hiring as there was no shortage of pilots as predicted.

Since the tech bubble burst, Robert has worked in software development, software configuration management, engineering quality assurance, and investing in real estate. Of all the jobs and career changes that Robert has gone through, the one that paid him the least amount of money and gave him the most satisfaction, was real estate. Not necessarily being a landlord. Although it’s been almost eight years since he and his best friend and real estate partner bought their first two duplexes and formed their company, they literally have been through it all with their tenants. Since that time though, he has found that real estate is his passion and he will continue to put that passion plus all his past experiences, lessons learned, relationship building, and mentoring, into building a bigger and better real estate company while helping others along the way.

Robert resides in Brooklyn Park, MN with his wonderful wife of 15 years and his 9 year old daughter.
